The EMERGE project aims to enhance the value of residues from the wine production chain by transforming them into compost-based soil amendments to improve vine nutrition and soil health, while promoting a beneficial and sustainable microbial community.
Through a multidisciplinary approach, the project investigates the effects of compost on the molecular responses of the vine, the microbiome of the soil and berries, fermentation processes, and the chemical and biological fertility of the soil, with the goal of increasing carbon sequestration and fostering a circular economy.
In summary, EMERGE explores innovative practices for a more resilient and environmentally sustainable wine production chain—from vineyard to glass.

The safety of new vineyards is a key challenge for the future of viticulture, especially in a context marked by ongoing climate change and extreme events.
Investing in a vineyard today means facing growing costs and risks that require adequate protection from the outset.
Insurance coverage represents a strategic lever for protecting invested capital, helping to ensure the company's financial stability and the sustainability of the entire sector.
This presentation explores the role of subsidized policies, highlighting the potential of an integrated approach, not only as a risk defense but also as an essential component of modern viticultural planning.
The opportunities offered by surety bonds linked to the restructuring and conversion programs of the CMO wine will also be illustrated, as useful tools for supporting investments and strengthening the competitiveness of winemaking businesses.
